Hwb+ is the provision of a secure learning platform to every school in Wales. A learning platform is a collection of online tools and services that can facilitate digital learning.
It is a Welsh Government funded project with access to high quality free online tools; most notably Microsoft Office 365. This is a online version of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Powerpoint, Excel and e-mail. Office 365 is provided free to all pupils in Wales, reducing the need to purchase these programmes.
It is a virtual learning classroom, which will enable the students to work both in school and at home. Every pupil has been given an unique username and password to access their own area in Hwb+
Pupils are able to upload documents, photos and videos and collaborate by joining in discussions, surveys, wikis and blogs. J2e and Jit programmes are also provided free via Hwb+
Hwb+ is a secure 'walled garden'. It is a safe online environment for pupils to learn and share, however we refer to our internet policy where we state that supervision is always required when pupils are using the Internet.
